Meet Dr. Gifford

Dental care is a very personal service, and the dentist/patient relationship can only thrive if it is built on trust, honesty, and compassion. Establishing quality relationships with my patients is my primary goal.

I believe in using only premier, local dental laboratories and the best available dental materials to treat my patients. I have consistently answered the call to serve as a leader in my profession because I have an internal sense of responsibility to protect the well-being of the general public in matters relating to their oral health.

I was born in 1972 and I’m looking forward to practicing dentistry in the Hillsdale neighborhood of Portland for many years to come. I want to be your new dentist and grow with your family in the years ahead.

Continuing Education

In order to provide my patients with the best and most advanced evidence-based dental care on a consistent basis, I schedule time throughout the year to be actively involved in participation-based, hands-on, peer-reviewed, live-patient study clubs, and I attend a variety of lecture-based seminars and conferences.

Professional Memberships

I am a member of several dental organizations.

One of these is the American Society of Implant & Reconstructive Dentistry (ASIRD). ASIRD is committed to improving the quality of care for dental implant patients by elevating the standards of surgical and restorative dental education and practice.

Not every dentist routinely restores and maintains dental implants and not all placers of dental implants are surgeons. By using an ASIRD team, rest assured that our office routinely restores and maintains dental implants. Only a trained dental implant-focused oral surgeon will place your implant.  You can learn more about ASIRD and the other organizations to which I belong by clicking on the links below.

Outside the Office

I live in SW Portland, Oregon (close to Gabriel Park) with my wife, Jenny-Anne. I have two sons, Joshua and Matthew, and a daughter, Emma, and brand new twin girls, Piper and Grace, born October 3, 2017.

We are a family that loves sports of all kinds, but college football is our favorite sport to watch. I attended Oregon State University, as did my in-laws. Go Beavs! When there’s a home game during football season, you may see us tailgating in Corvallis.

And for the record, many of my friends and patients are Duck fans. So I fully support all the fine sports programs in our state ... except during Civil War weekend, of course.
